Photographic zine (12 pages) created in the month December, 2022, entitled 'Place Des Vosges'
Statement from the artist:
‘Place Des Vosges’ explores an analog photographic series taken in the early months of autumn, interweaving text and imagery to create a visual narrative based upon the three notions of 'figure', 'form', and 'light' previously explored in a seperate photographic series. The text, written in french in homage to the subject matter, draws upon the nature of photography and its relation to philosophy, meditation, and the external world:
'As artists, we cannot dissociate ourselves from the conventions of our medium. We, as photographers, are confined to the boundaries of two-dimensionality, of indexicality, of timelessness. But for the same reasons, it allows us to expand and explore its nature, to create a complex and spontaneous interaction of light and subject, intention and meaning. The photographic image transforms a piece of paper into a seductive illusion or a moment of truth and beauty.''
