'Delving further into alternative photographic methods, I have become transfixed in the notion of developing onto non-conventional materials. In this series of experimental self-portraits, I attempt to explore the nature of artistic interaction between viewer and image by the subversion of conventional photographic exhibition. The process of creating the images consisted of hand-developing four photo-sensitive dryplates via silver gelatin emulsion, subsequently exposing several 135mm self portraits to the dried material, interweaving gestural strokes via the adhearance of the emulsion by brush.
